This memorial commemorates the Kortrijk resistance fighters of the Secret Army and the Independent Front who died in World War II.

The text on the memorial plaque on the left reads:
"G.L. - A.S.
1940 - 1945
The Secret Army
To his heroes who came before
the liberation of Belgium
sacrificed their lives"

On the memorial plaque on the right:
"In tribute to the
resistance fighters and fallen soldiers
of the Independence Front
to liberate our city

1940 – 1945"
