Memorial Lt. James James Raymond Mallock

This memorial commemorates Lt. James James Raymond Mallock of the Lancashire Fusiliers, killed in the Battle of Spioenkop.

The Battle of Spioenkop (Spion Kop) took place from 20 to 24 January 1900 between the Boer troops the South African Republic and the Orange Free State and British forces, during the campaign to relieve Ladysmith. The battle was won by the Boer. 243 Brits and 68 Boer were killed.
