Biography

Cainie J. Clemons was born on December 14th 1921 as the son to Clifton Dalton Clemons (1901 - 1987) and Clara Elizabeth Clemons (Harden, 1905 - 1993). He entered the Army on 31 October 1942 at Roanoke, Virginia, United States. Was Killed in Action on 20 September 1944 near Nijmegen during the Waal crossing. His remains were recovered later in the same month. Was probably first buried at the temporary cemetery in Molenhoek, near Nijmegen. His body was shipped back to the United States after the war, where he is permanently reintered in Boones Mill/Virginia, United States.
