Battle and campaigns Rhineland, Central Europe, 26 May 1943-- 7 Mar 1946.

Meadows entered US Army October 6, 1942 as NCO Corporal March 1943 then discharged and re-entered as AR-615-360, Cof G to accept commission a 2nd LT MAC (AUS) 2nd LT. In one citation for the Bronze star he was struck by shrapnel from an exploded artillery round while removing wounded under fire from beach head.
