Old Shooting Range Fliegerhorst Venlo

The Schiessstand of Fliegerhorst contained two shooting ranges, partly dug in and located next to each other: the widest consists of a wide ''moat'' with a protected sand wall on both sides and a higher earthen bullet trap at the end. The second firing range is narrower and also ends in a high earthen bullet trap. On the wide runway the on-board weapons were adjusted and fired, on the narrow runway the Luftwaffe personnel of the airbase could maintain their shooting skills. At least 2 German soldiers have been executed for ''Fahnenflucht'' at Fliegerhorst Venlo on this shooting range
