Memorial Jewish Children's Transport Herbesthal

Monument in memory of Jewish minors who were deported to Belgium between 1938-1939. These transports went past Herbesthal station and 750 Jewish children under the age of 14 were saved. Most of the children were transported to Great Britain.
The Belgian government was initially reluctant and the first shipments were returned to Germany. The indignation of the population and the criticism of the press was great, so that the government reversed its decision.
