Memorial First World War Bilstain

This plaque commemorates the soldiers from Bilstain who died in the First World War.

HANNOTTE Eugène, aged 30, from Bilstain, soldier in the 1st Grenadier Regiment, killed in action at Paschendale on 29 September 1918 and missing since.

OLIVIER Leopold, age 21, born in Bilstain, soldier in the 1st regiment Carbiniers Cyclistes, killed by shrapnel in his thigh at Stuivekenskerke on 18 March 1918.

These two soldiers are also commemorated with a photo on the main panel of the warmonument of Bilstain a few meters away at the cemetery near the church of Saint-Roch.
