Belgian War Graves Andrimont

The Andrimont municipal cemetery contains a number of Belgian war graves of World War II soldiers, resisters and civilian victims.

Buried soldiers and resisters;

BASTIN Henri, age 28, from Andrimont, corporal in the 25th Line Regiment, killed at Bavikhove on May 24, 1940.

BERGWEILER Roger, age 32, from Andrimont, non-commissioned officer with the Armée Secret (A.S.), killed in the Forêt massacre at Forêt on September 5, 1944.

BISCHOFF Robert, age 20, no further details known.

COLLYN Grégoire, age 25, from Andrimont, soldier with the 25th Line Regiment, died of wounds on May 28, 1940 at Oudenaarde.

DEFOSSA Jean, age 25, from Andrimont, corporal in the 62nd Line Regiment, killed in action at Saint-Étienne-au-Mont (France) on May 22, 1940.

DODEMONT François, age 21, no further details known.

GENGLER Jules, age 20, from Andrimont, resistent with the Armée Secret (A.S.), arrested on August 25, 1942, shot at 9:00 a.m. at the Citadelle of Liège on November 9, 1942.

HEIKTERS Raymond, age 34, no further details known.

HEUSCHEN Joseph, age 45, resister with the Front Independant, no further details known.

JONAS Antoine, age 50, no further details known.

LECHAT Guy, age 37, from Andrimont, reserve Lieutenant in the 31st Line Regiment, died of wounds at Sint-Niklaas on June 10, 1940.

LERMUSIEAUX R., age 20, resistent with the Armée Secret (A.S.) shot at Banneux on Sept. 6.

LETESSON Jacques, 39 jaar, weerstander bij het Armée Secret, overleden 11 september 1944 te Andrimont, geen verdere gegevens bekend.

PITERS Alphonse, age 19 !, from Andrimont, soldier with the Regiment de Fortresse de Liège (R.F.L.) at Battice Fort, killed near the fort on May 21, 1940.

PLUNUS Nicolas, age 37, from Andrimont, resistent, shot on December 12, 1942 at Fort Breedonk.

RENARD Léon, age 28, from Andrimont, soldier in the 25th Line Regiment, killed in action at Ardooie on May 24, 1940.

TAILLEUR Lauren, age 19 !, from Andrimont, soldier with the Regiment de Fortresse de Liège (R.F.L.) at the Battice fort, killed near the fort on May 21, 1940.

WAUTHIEUX Denis, age 49, no further details known.

There is also a monument in memory of 6 executed. They were executed on September 8, 1944 at Neuville (Andrimont). Just before the liberation of Andrimont by the American army on September 9, 1944.

DAENEN René, age 45, from Andrimont.

FELLER Auguste, age 31, from Andrimont.

FELLER Jules, age 25, from Andrimont.

LERUSE Léonard, age 58, from Andrimont.
