German bunker 129 Stellung Antwerp-Turnhout WWI Oud-Turnhout

In Oud-Turnhout there are still two bunkers of the type II of the "Stellung Antwerpen-Turnhout" from the First World War.
This bunker position started east of the Fort van Schoten and lay on both sides of the Dessel-Schoten Canal and ended at the Oude Kom at bridge 1 in Turnhout. At this point it leaves the canal and defends the main access roads to Turnhout and the intervals. The bunkers form a half circle around Turnhout that ends at the priory of Corsendonk in Oud-Turnhout.
Of the three bunkers that used to be in Oud-Turnhout, only two remain.
