Corregidor - Battery Keyes

This battery consisted of two 3" M1903 pedestal mount guns which were mounted here in 1913. It is named after 2nd. Lt. Maxwell Keyes, who was killed in the Philippine–American War 1899. Each gun had its own ammunition bunker. The battery was manned by the Philippine Scouts during the Japanese invasion of Corregidor in 1942.
