Memorial Reconstruction Middelburg

This plaque is located on the first building rebuilt in the St. Janstraat to Middelburg in memory of the reconstruction after the bombing of May 17, 1940.

In the buildings rebuild during the war, a brick was placed in the facade showing an eagle and the year 1940.
The eagle as a Phoenix (an animal fable from Greek mythology) means "resurrection".
1 x in the 1000 year burn the nest of the Phoenix and the bird reborn from its own ashes.
The observant walker can see these bricks in the facades.
