Commonwealth War Grave Dutch Reformed Cemetery Bergharen

The Dutch Reformed Cemetery on Veldsestraat in Bergharen contains one Commonwealth grave. It concerns the grave of Flt/Sgt Dudley Crofton Horn. Horn was mistakenly shot at by two USAAF P47 Thunderbolts in the Hawker Typhoon IB R8688 of 247 Squadron of the Royal Air Force on January 14, 1945. The aircraft crashed and drilled into the Oude Wetering dike near the Hoekgraaf in Bergharen. Sqdn.Horn was killed in the crash.
