Memorial Brussels Parliament

In the Hall of Mirrors of the Brussels Parliament, a copper memorial plaque was unveiled on Tuesday 25 January 2022 in honor of the 464 Brussels residents who have been recognized as "Righteous Among the Nations". Their names were read at the unveiling.
In the war, the Righteous were those little flickering lights that saved lives and human dignity. They embodied humanity in a dehumanized world.
They resist with bare hands, risking their own lives and that of their families. They loved life, not only their own life, but that of others, of strangers, innocent victims who were hunted, denied the simple right to life. This courage and self-sacrifice make of the Righteous exceptional persons, examples for eternity.

To honor the Righteous every day, the new memorial plaque was hung in the hall of honor of the Brussels parliament.
She wants to convey an important message, especially to the younger generations, which is still relevant today, namely the possibility to stand up against injustice, against racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination.
