Memorial Lindenstraße 10

On June 24, 2016, a memorial plaque was hung here for Daniel Levy – Melanie Levy – Irene Levy – Martha Levy. Because they survived the war, no Stolpersteine were placed.

Daniël Levy, known as Bakker Dani, owned a bakery at 10 Lindenstrasse with his wife Melanie. He sold bread and pastries in Bollendorf and the surrounding area.
The couple had two children Irène and Martha.
During the pogrom night, Levy was beaten and wounded in the village, after which he fled with his wife and Martha to France where he had relatives.
The eldest daughter Irène had moved to Nice in January 1938 where she lived with her husband Daniel Mayer, also from Bollendorf.
During the war years, the family had to look for safe places, also in France, because the Jews were also threatened and persecuted there.
