Crashlocation Vickers Wellington X3279, JN-M

During the night of June 6th/7th, 1942, at 23.50 hrs from Snaith, Yorkshire, Engeland the Vickers Wellington Mk III X3279, JN-M of No. 150 Squadron took off for a mission to Emden in Northern Germany. At 00.47 hrs the plane was shot down by Oberleutnant Ludwig Becker from 6. Staffel, Nachtjagdgeschwader 2 and crashed in the Waddensea, east of Ameland. The exact location is unknown. On board were Co-pilot Sergeant Leonard Thomas Baker, Pilot Flying officer Malcolm James Larke Blunt (1915-1942), Observer Sergeant Kenneth Stoddart Preston (1913-1942), Gunner Sergeant Gwilym Thomas Edwards (1920-1942), Gunner Sergeant William Jackson (1919-1942) and Gunner Sergeant Stanley James Morgan (-1942). All crew members were killed in the crash.
