The Sacred Heart statue in Belfeld was erected in by former mobilisers who had survived fighting the occupying forces in the May days of 1940. The statue of a standing Christ figure is placed on a square brick pedestal, to which a plaque is attached.
The text on the plaque reads:
'10 MAY 1940.
THANK YOU FOR OUR SALVATION.
BELFELDS FORMER MOBILISED.'
