Stumbling Stones Teteringenstraat 8

These brass plaques (Stolpersteine or stumbling stones), placed on 25-09-2024, commemorate:

* LOUIS HAAS (born 1856, interned 9-4-1943 Vught, deported 27-4-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 30-4-1943, Sobibor).
* SARA JOHANNA KOGEL-HAAS (born 1887, deported 20-11-1942, from Westerbork, murdered 23-11-1942, Auschwitz).
* ELKAN KOGEL (born 1878, deported 20-11-1942, from Westerbork, murdered 23-11-1942, Auschwitz).
* HANNA SAMSON-FRANK (born 1857, deported 21-09-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 24-9-1943, Auschwitz).
* JEANNETTE SAMSON (born 1892, deported 03-06-1944, from Vught, murdered, Auschwitz).
* EPHRAIM DUIS (born 1928, interned 22-11-1943, Vught, deported 23-3-1944, from Westerbork, murdered april 1944, Auschwitz).

These Stolpersteine lie here for Jewish war victims persecuted, deported and murdered in World War II.

"Stolpersteine" is an art project for Europe by Gunter Demnig to commemorate victims of National Socialism (Nazism). Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) are small, 10x10cm brass plaques placed in the sidewalk in front of the last voluntary residence of (usually Jewish) victims of the Nazis. Each plaque is provided with the victim�s, date of birth, and fate. By doing this, Gunter Demnig gives an individual memorial to each victim. One stone, one name, one person. He cites the Talmud: one human being is forgotten only when his or her name is forgotten.
