The complex consisted of a gunpowder magazine (1893), an ammunition magazine, a material shed with a workshop, and a conductor's house. Ammunition was partly stored in barges on Zijkanaal G. During the 1916 flood, gunpowder and ammunition were stored elsewhere, including at De Eendenkooi, the Naval Shipyard, and Sectorpark Zaandam.
In 1940, the complex was still untouched. After the war, many objects were lost due to demolition work (the last of which took place in late 2013-early 2014). The ammunition magazine at Weerpad 2 is the only remaining remnant. The building next to the magazine stands on the foundation of the conductor's house.
