The ropeways of the VOC and Admiralty once ran along the site; they were demolished around 1916, except for the main buildings. During the mobilization, clothing and equipment were stored here. In the 1920s and 1930s, various sheds and warehouses were built, some of which were later demolished or replaced. Around 1936, two new buildings with shelters were constructed. In 1940, the site became the Central Warehouse for Clothing and Equipment. After the military left in 1983, it was incorporated into the KPU Company; demolition followed in 1988. Nowadays, two restored buildings remained on the Oostenburgergracht, once the main buildings of the VOC and Admiralty ropeways.
