Between Wolfheze station, Deelen Air Base, and the Diogenes radar bunker, the Germans built a railway line in the summer of 1941 to transport ammunition, building materials, and fuel. The connection, including side branches, is fourteen kilometers long and is still clearly visible in the landscape. The railway line crossed the A12 motorway, which meant that a tunnel had to be built. At the time, the A12 was much narrower, and when the A12 was widened between 2008 and 2012, the tunnel also had to be modified, which is clearly visible.
