Memorial and Museum Hollandsche Schouwburg Amsterdam

The Hollandsche Schouwburg is a Memorial as a reminder to the Dutch Jews who were killed during World War 2.

In the center of the former Amsterdam Jew getto, Jews were being gathered in 1942 and 1943 from all over Amsterdam to be transported to camp Westerbork in Drenthe. Thereafter most people were being transported to the east. A total of about 104.000 Dutch Jews were being deported to the camps in Poland. Only a few returned.

The Hollandsche Schouwburg is a monument as a reminder to the many Dutch Jews who were killed by the Nazi's. In the hall there is a wall with the names of the deported family's and a forever burning flame. Upstairs is a small but impressive museum with authentic objects from that time and impressive photograph's. All toghether it gives a good, impressive and respectfull image of those horrible events of over 60 years ago.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
