Dutch War Memorial Rusthof Cemetery Ridderkerk

Rusthof Cemetery in Ridderkerk contains a collective grave of five soldiers from Ridderkerk who died in the May days of 1940:

Jan Hermanus Zwiers
Johannes Dijksman
Arie Huizer
Dammis de Hon

A brick memorial wall with bronze plaques has been placed behind the five graves.
The top plaque contains the names of the seven soldiers from Ridderkerk, who died in the former Dutch East Indies:
Arie van Driel
Cornelis van Halem
Cornelis Put
Jan Cornelis Blaak
Johannes Breedveld
Hendrik Johannes van Die
Johannes George Trouborst

The bottom plaque on the right shows the names of the five crew members of an airplane T-5-856, which crashed in Ridderkerk.

Finally, a plaque with the name of a soldier who died in the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon has been placed.
