Biography
Son of Robert Clinton Burton and Eva Gladys Stricklin. Called up for military service on 31 March 1944 and deployed in Europe with the 303rd Infantry Regiment / 97th Infantry Division from March 1945 onwards. Departed for Japan on 31 August 1945, where his regiment was part of the occupying force. Returned to the USA on 13 April and discharged from the army upon arrival.
