"For gallantry in action on 24th March 1945, in Germany. Realizing the necessity of flanking the enemy, who had halted the advance of his company by heavy machine gun fire, Private Waldron crawled to within seventy-five yards of the enemy positions where he boldly opened fire. Although the enemy returned his fire, he remained steadfast while his squad advanced. By his gallant action, Private Waldron made it possible for his squad to close with the enemy and to overrun the position."
