Servicenumber 177399.
Thomas Rippon started training as gunner in December 1940. May 1942 he left England and went to Caïro via Gibraltar. He flew Wellington’s with 108 Squadron and was deployed as nosegunner. Until December 1942 he flew 42 operational sorties. He started his 3rd tour in August 1944 with 35 Squadron, a Pathfinder squadron making attacks on V-1 launchsites south of Caen followed by numerous attacks on Germany. He ended his 3rd tour in December 1944.
July 1949 he was recommissioned and served with 9 and 230 Squadron. He retired in July 1973.
