Memorial Fallen 3rd Infantry Regiment

On the grounds of the Trip van Zoudtlandtkazerne is a memorial to commemorate the fallen soldiers who left from here to the Dutch East Indies. The monument consists of three parts, for the three battalions that were deployed.

The third battalion was sent to Sumatra east coast. Arrival in Medan 26-10-1946. Repatriated 12-11-1949.
18 soldiers were killed.

The fourth battalion has been sent to West Java. Arrival 27-04-1947 in Batavia. Repatriated 07-02-1950
29 soldiers were killed.

The fifth battalion has been sent to South Sumatra. Arrival 31-12-1947 in Palembang. Repatriated 08-04-1950.
9 soldiers were killed
