Former Headquarters Kempish Legion

During the Second War, this farm near Het Grotenhoutbos or Gierlese Bos was the headquarters of the resistance group Het Kempisch Legioen. This resistance group was mainly active in the Kempen.
On September 20, 1944, a fierce battle was fought here and the farm was set on fire by the Germans.
After the war, this farm was rebuilt by the Kempisch Legion. A memorial stone commemorated this event.
