Belgian Wargraves at Wandre

The municipal cemetery in Wandre contains a memorial plot with seven Belgian war graves from the First World War. Unfortunately, this cemetery of honor is in poor condition.

Those buried there are:

BOURDOUX Guillaume, age 32, born in Wandre, soldier with the 17th Artillery Regiment, died of injuries sustained on February 21, 1919, in the military hospital in Hoogstade.

BRASSINE Mathieu, age 29, from Wandre, soldier with the 6th Infantry Division, killed by shrapnel on October 14, 1918, in Moorslede.

CRENIER Hubert, age 24, from Wandre, soldier with the 12th Line Regiment, killed by shrapnel on July 23, 1918, in Izenberge.

FRANSOUET Leopold, age 25, no further details known.

HORENBACH Henri, age 21, born in Wandre, soldier with the 1st Cyclistes (cyclists) regiment, killed in action on October 21, 1918, in Maldegem.

LEDUC Mathieu, age 21, no further details known.

REMI Pierre, age 24, born in Wandre, soldier and cavalryman with the horse artillery, killed by poison gas on March 28, 1918, in Lampernisse.
