Memorial Muslim Soldiers

This memorial is dedicated to the 30.000 muslim soldiers who fell at Verdun during the First World War.

On June 26, 2006, French President Chirac inaugurated this monument on the hill of Douaumont in memory of the thousands of Muslims who fell for France during the First World War.
The monument is a circular gallery measuring 25 by 19 meters with an arched vault and Arabian battlements.

Inside is a column with text:
'To the soldiers
Muslims
Died
for France "
