Stelling van Amsterdam - Diemerdammersluis

The Diemerdam Lock, built around 1400, drained water from Amstelland. It was strategically located near Fort Diemerdam, part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Later, it helped regulate the water level in the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, especially during extreme rainfall. Around 1921, ebb gates were added to the lock.

In 2005, the lock failed its inspection. After the renovation of the Ipensloter Lock, it was decommissioned in 2017. A sheet pile wall with a fish passage was installed. The lock is no longer operational, but it remains in operation and is part of Waternet.
