The battery was part of the "Kustbatterij bij Diemerdam (Coastal Battery at Durgerdam)" was part of the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
The fort was mobilized in 1914-1918.
