The Dutch group shelters, part of the New Dutch Waterline, were intended as shelter during shelling and bombing, when the trenches between the shelters did not provide sufficient cover. The principle was based on the method of fighting in the First World War.
The group shelters were built in 1939 and 1940. A number of them were not yet completed at the outbreak of the Second World War. These were also not completed later.
These personnel bunkers were called 'Pyramids' by the Germans, because of the shape of the bunker.
The bunker is located on private land and is not freely accessible.
