Information Sign Mosquito DZ354

On December 12, 1943 the Mosquito DZ354 of pilot Frank Reynolds and navigator John Douglas Phillips of RAF 105 Squadron crashed nearby this location. Their plane was intercepted and hit by the German Heinkel HE219 A-0 of pilot Manfred Meurer and radar operator Gerhard Schiebe. Both British air men were buried at the cemetery of Herwijnen, where the still rest.
