This replica of the Monument to the February Strike of 1941 was presented in 2001 to 90-year-old Saul Smit, who was actively involved for decades as chairman of the Dutch Jewish Community and numerous Jewish organizations.

Jewish Monument
A memorial book is located in the column of the Jewish Monument, bearing the names of 171 Jewish residents of the seven former Zaan municipalities who were killed in the war.

The names were calligraphed by the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of Our Lady (Catharinadal) in Oosterhout.

Every week, a page is turned, so that all names are visible two or three times a year and the memory of the dead is kept alive.
