Operation Dryad (1942)

Operation Dryad was a British commando raid on the Casquets lighthouse near Alderney in September 1942. Twelve commandos landed undetected, captured seven German personnel without resistance, and returned safely with prisoners and equipment. The raid prompted Germany to reinforce the site.
